The history of Shinsockz
roots of our brand
Hey, I’m Louis. Football has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Whenever I get the chance, I’m on the pitch, whether it’s with my club, with friends, or just for fun.
The idea to start my own online shop didn’t come from a business plan or profit goals. It was never about selling just anything or making a quick buck. I wanted to create something that I could build from the ground up… something personal. I wanted to learn by doing: exploring e-commerce, branding, and building a community. Bottom line: I wanted to experience what it’s like to create something of my own – something real, with value.
a problem was found
The breakthrough idea didn’t come from a workshop or endless brainstorming. It came casually, while I was biking to training – when I realized once again how much my football socks were bothering me. Every time the same struggle: cutting them, folding them, trying to make them work… and still they’d slip, twist, or sit uncomfortably.
Training, matches – week in, week out, same issue.Then it hit me: I wasn’t the only one. On every amateur pitch across the world, it’s the same story. Everyone has their own DIY fix: tape, cut socks, double layers – but nothing really works well, and none of it looks clean either. That’s when I realized: there’s a small, annoying problem affecting millions of footballers – and nobody has really solved it yet.
